Aircraft Exports
Exports in Eastern Asia
In 2023, overseas shipments of airplanes and other aircraft decreased by X% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. In general, exports, however, posted a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, aircraft exports expanded significantly to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a measured expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
China represented the main exporting country with an export of around X units, which resulted at X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by South Korea (X units), achieving a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Japan (X units) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) - each reached a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to aircraft exports from China stood at X%. At the same time, South Korea (X%), Taiwan (Chinese) (X%) and Japan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. From 2012 to 2023, the share of South Korea increased by X percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The export price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2023, rising by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2022 when the export price increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Asia
After four years of decline, purchases abroad of airplanes and other aircraft increased by X% to X units in 2023. Overall, imports, however, recorded a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, aircraft imports fell to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2023, South Korea (X units) was the largest importer of airplanes and other aircraft, achieving X% of total imports. Japan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by China (X%) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X%). The following importers - Hong Kong SAR (X units) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) - together made up X% of total imports.
South Korea was also the fastest-growing in terms of the airplanes and other aircraft imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Japan (X%), China (X%), Hong Kong SAR (X%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. South Korea (X p.p.) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Japan, Hong Kong SAR, China and Taiwan (Chinese) saw its share reduced by X%, X%, X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.
