In 2022, shipments abroad of air conditioning machines decreased by X% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate notable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, air conditioning machine exports rose sharply to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In Japan, air conditioning machine imports shrank by an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Hong Kong SAR (X% per year) and South Korea (X% per year).
