Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, sparkling wine exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Sweden (X litres) was the main destination for sparkling wine exports from Denmark, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, sparkling wine exports to Sweden exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Lithuania (X litres), fourfold. Germany (X litres) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Sweden stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Lithuania (+X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).
In value terms, Sweden ($X), Switzerland ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for sparkling wine exported from Denmark worldwide, together comprising X% of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Switzerland, with a CAGR of +X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average sparkling wine export price amounted to $X per litre, waning by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per litre in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per litre), while the average price for exports to Iceland ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of sparkling wine imported into Denmark amounted to X litres, growing by X% against the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, sparkling wine imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. Italy (X litres), France (X litres) and Spain (X litres) were the main suppliers of sparkling wine imports to Denmark, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Sweden and the UK, which together accounted for a further X 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the UK (+X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sparkling wine to Denmark, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Italy ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from France amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+X% per year) and Spain (+X% per year).

In 2021, the average sparkling wine import price amounted to $X per litre, jumping by X% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per litre), while the price for Italy ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
