In general, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country
Lithuania (X tons) was the main destination for roasted coffee exports from Denmark, accounting for a 34% share of total exports. Moreover, roasted coffee exports to Lithuania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sweden (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Iceland (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Lithuania stood at +38.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (-1.8% per year) and Iceland (+2.7% per year).
In value terms, Lithuania ($X), Sweden ($X) and Norway ($X) constituted the largest markets for roasted coffee exported from Denmark worldwide, together accounting for 49% of total exports. These countries were followed by Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Greenland, the Netherlands, Faroe Islands, the UK, Poland and Finland, which together accounted for a further 44%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, France, with a CAGR of +106.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average roasted coffee export price amounted to $X per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, leveling off in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Denmark
In 2021, the amount of roasted coffee imported into Denmark totaled X tons, picking up by 10% against 2020. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of roasted coffee imports to Denmark, together comprising 83% of total imports. These countries were followed by Kenya, the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 12%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Kenya (with a CAGR of +96.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Sweden ($X) and Poland ($X) were the largest roasted coffee suppliers to Denmark, together comprising 74% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Kenya, Italy and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 16%.
Among the main suppliers, Kenya, with a CAGR of +87.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average roasted coffee import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 4.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
