Cereal Flour Market Size in Denmark

For the fifth consecutive year, Denmark recorded decline in market revenue of cereal flours, which decreased by -X% to $X in 2018. In general, cereal flour consumption showed a drastic decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when the market value increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the cereal flour market attained its maximum level at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, consumption failed to regain its momentum.

Cereal Flour Production in Denmark

In value terms, cereal flour production shrank slightly to $X in 2018 estimated in export prices. In general, cereal flour production saw an abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 when production volume increased by X% against the previous year. Denmark cereal flour production peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, production remained at a lower figure.

In 2018, approx. X tonnes of cereal flours were exported from Denmark; approximately mirroring 2017 figures. Overall, cereal flour exports, however, saw a drastic decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Denmark exports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, cereal flour exports totaled $X in 2018. In general, cereal flour exports, however, recorded an abrupt reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, cereal flour exports attained their peak figure at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey (X tonnes) and Kazakhstan (X tonnes) represented the key exporters of cereal flours in 2018, reaching approx. X% and X% of total exports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Germany (X tonnes), creating a X% share of total exports. Argentina (X tonnes), Pakistan (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes), Egypt (X tonnes), the U.S. (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), Uzbekistan (X tonnes), Mexico (X tonnes) and Canada (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2007 to 2018, the biggest increases were in Uzbekistan (+X% per year), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest cereal flour supplier from Denmark, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey totaled +X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The cereal flour export price in Denmark stood at $X per tonne in 2018, remaining constant against the previous year. Overall, the cereal flour export price saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 an increase of X% y-o-y. Denmark export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per tonne), while Kazakhstan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the U.S., while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cereal flour imports into Denmark declined to X tonnes in 2018, waning by -X% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, cereal flour imports saw a moderate decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Denmark imports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, cereal flour imports shrank to $X in 2018. Overall, cereal flour imports recorded a slight descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, cereal flour imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

Afghanistan (X tonnes) and Iraq (X tonnes) represented the largest importers of cereal flours in 2018, accounting for approx. X% and X% of total imports, respectively. The following importers - Uzbekistan (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes), Angola (X tonnes), the U.S. (X tonnes), Syrian Arab Republic (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), Brazil (X tonnes), Guinea (X tonnes), Bolivia (X tonnes) and Somalia (X tonnes) - together made up X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, the biggest increases were in Guinea, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Iraq ($X), Afghanistan ($X) and the U.S. ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2018, with a combined X% share of total imports. The Netherlands, France, Angola, Guinea, Brazil, Syrian Arab Republic, Uzbekistan, Bolivia and Somalia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The cereal flour import price in Denmark stood at $X per tonne in 2018, picking up by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the cereal flour import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 an increase of X% year-to-year. In that year, the import prices for cereal flours attained their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2018, the growth in terms of the import prices for cereal flours remained at a lower figure.
