Wheat Flour Market Size in the Czech Republic

The revenue of the wheat flour market in the Czech Republic amounted to $X in 2018, lowering by -X% against the previous year. Overall, wheat flour consumption, however, continues to indicate a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Exports from the Czech Republic

In 2018, the exports of wheat or meslin flour from the Czech Republic totaled X tonnes, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, wheat flour exports continue to indicate prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, wheat flour exports attained their peak figure at X tonnes in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2018, exports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, wheat flour exports stood at $X in 2018. In general, wheat flour exports continue to indicate a remarkable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, wheat flour exports reached their peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, exports remained at a lower figure.

Slovakia (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes) and Germany (X tonnes) were the main destinations of wheat flour exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Slovakia, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for wheat flour exported from the Czech Republic were Slovakia ($X), Poland ($X) and Israel ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Slovakia experienced the highest growth rate of exports, over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the average wheat flour export price amounted to $X per tonne, rising by X% against the previous year. In general, the wheat flour export price, however, continues to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 an increase of X% y-o-y. In that year, the average export prices for wheat or meslin flour reached their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average export prices for wheat or meslin flour remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Wheat Flour Imports

Imports into the Czech Republic

In 2018, the amount of wheat or meslin flour imported into the Czech Republic amounted to X tonnes, declining by -X% against the previous year. Overall, wheat flour imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, wheat flour imports reached their maximum at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wheat flour imports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, wheat flour imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, wheat flour imports attained their maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2018, Slovakia (X tonnes) constituted the largest wheat flour supplier to the Czech Republic, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, wheat flour imports from Slovakia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Hungary (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume from Slovakia totaled +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (+X% per year) and Hungary (+X% per year).

In value terms, Slovakia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of wheat flour to the Czech Republic, comprising X% of total wheat flour imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Austria ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Hungary, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Slovakia totaled +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (+X% per year) and Hungary (+X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2018, the average wheat flour import price amounted to $X per tonne, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the wheat flour import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. In that year, the average import prices for wheat or meslin flour reached their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average import prices for wheat or meslin flour failed to regain its momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the price for Slovakia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
