The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Belgium stood at $X per tonne.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands.

In 2020, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of tobacco (unmanufactured), when their volume increased by X% to X tonnes. In general, total imports indicated mild growth from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2012 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tonnes. from 2013 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, unmanufactured tobacco imports expanded significantly to $X in 2020. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2020, Brazil (X tonnes) constituted the largest unmanufactured tobacco supplier to the Czech Republic, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, unmanufactured tobacco imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mozambique (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Argentina (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Brazil amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mozambique (+X% per year) and Argentina (+X% per year).

In value terms, the largest unmanufactured tobacco suppliers to the Czech Republic were Brazil ($X), Mozambique ($X) and Argentina ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, Argentina saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average unmanufactured tobacco import price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. from 2014 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Greece ($X per tonne), while the price for Brazil ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tanzania, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
