In value terms, sunflower-seed and safflower oil exports shrank to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019, and then reduced in the following year.

Poland (X tonnes) was the main destination for sunflower-seed and safflower oil exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, sunflower-seed and safflower oil exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tonnes), threefold. Austria (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Poland stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+X% per year) and Austria (+X% per year).

The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Austria, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value to Poland amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+X% per year) and Austria (+X% per year).

In 2020, the average sunflower-seed and safflower oil export price amounted to $X per tonne, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 an increase of X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

In 2020, purchases abroad of sunflower-seed and safflower oil decreased by -X% to X tonnes for the first time since 2016, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2019, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, sunflower-seed and safflower oil imports shrank to $X in 2020. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 with an increase of X% year-to-year.
