Cosmetics Market Size in the Czech Republic

After two years of growth, the Czech cosmetics market decreased by -X% to $X in 2019. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate resilient growth. The UK, Belgium, Poland, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Greece and Cyprus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Cyprus (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2019, the average cosmetics export price amounted to $X per tonne, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2009 an increase of X% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2019 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2019, purchases abroad of cosmetics decreased by -X% to X tonnes for the first time since 2016, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2018, and then shrank notably in the following year.
