Sawnwood Exports in the Czech Republic

In 2017, sawnwood exports from the Czech Republic totaled X cubic meters, falling by -X% against the previous year. In general, sawnwood exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, the sawnwood exports attained their peak volume of X cubic meters. From 2009 to 2017, growth of the sawnwood exports stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, sawnwood exports totaled $X in 2017. Overall, sawnwood exports continue to indicate a slight drop. The exports peaked of $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Japan (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Austria ($X) and Slovakia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for sawnwood exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. Italy, Japan, Slovenia and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

In general, sawnwood export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009, when the average export prices increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the average export prices for sawnwood attained its peak figure level of $X per cubic meter in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

Export prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest export price was Poland ($X per cubic meter), while average price for exports to Italy ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

In 2017, approx. X cubic meters of sawnwood were imported into the Czech Republic; waning by -X% against the previous year. The total import volume increased an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2017; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010, when it surged by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the sawnwood imports reached its maximum volume of X cubic meters in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

In value terms, sawnwood imports amounted to $X in 2017. The total import value increased an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2017; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The imports peaked of $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

Germany (X cubic meters), Austria (X cubic meters) and Slovakia (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of sawnwood imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Ukraine, Russia, Sweden and Belarus, which together accounted for a further X%.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belarus (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sawnwood to the Czech Republic, making up X% of total sawnwood imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Slovakia ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Austria, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2017, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany totaled +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Slovakia (-X% per year) and Austria (-X% per year).

Over the period from 2007 to 2017, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2009, when it surged by X% year-to-year. In that year, the average import prices for sawnwood reached their peak level of $X per cubic meter. From 2010 to 2017, growth of the average import prices for sawnwood stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2017, the country with the highest import price was Sweden ($X per cubic meter), while prices for sawnwood imports from Ukraine ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
