Exports from the Czech Republic

In 2022, overseas shipments of roundwood decreased by X% to X cubic meters, falling for the second consecutive year after six years of growth. Overall, exports, however, posted prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X cubic meters in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, roundwood exports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

Exports by Country

Austria (X cubic meters) was the main destination for roundwood exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, roundwood exports to Austria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X cubic meters), twofold. Poland (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Austria totaled X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (X% per year) and Poland (X% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into the Czech Republic

In 2022, supplies from abroad of roundwood was finally on the rise to reach X cubic meters for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced decrease. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, roundwood imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight slump. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Germany (X cubic meters), Poland (X cubic meters) and Slovakia (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of roundwood imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Germany (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, the largest roundwood suppliers to the Czech Republic were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Slovakia ($X), together comprising X% of total imports.
