Rapeseed Oil Market Size in the Czech Republic

In 2020, the Czech rapeseed oil market increased by X% to $X, rising for the fifth year in a row after two years of decline. In general, consumption continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the market value increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the market attained the peak level at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Rapeseed Oil Production in the Czech Republic

In value terms, rapeseed oil production expanded markedly to $X in 2020 estimated in export prices. Overall, the total production indicated noticeable growth from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, production increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when the production volume increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. from 2012 to 2020, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from the Czech Republic

In 2020, rapeseed oil exports from the Czech Republic dropped modestly to X tonnes, which is down by -X% on 2019 figures. In general, exports, however, saw buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports reached the peak figure at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, rapeseed oil exports rose to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes) and Austria (X tonnes) were the main destinations of rapeseed oil exports from the Czech Republic, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Slovakia, Hungary and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Hungary, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for rapeseed oil exported from the Czech Republic were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Austria ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Slovakia, Hungary and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2020, the countries with the highest prices were Slovakia ($X per tonne) and the Netherlands ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per tonne) and Germany ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

For the seventh consecutive year, the Czech Republic recorded decline in purchases abroad of rapeseed oil, which decreased by -X% to X tonnes in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, rapeseed oil imports shrank sharply to $X in 2020. Overall, imports, however, saw a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Poland (X tonnes), Austria (X tonnes) and Germany (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of rapeseed oil imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Hungary, the Netherlands and Lithuania, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Hungary, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X), Austria ($X) and Hungary ($X) were the largest rapeseed oil suppliers to the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, Hungary (+X% per year) saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average rapeseed oil import price amounted to $X per tonne, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. from 2012 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the countries with the highest prices were Hungary ($X per tonne) and the Netherlands ($X per tonne), while the price for Poland ($X per tonne) and Lithuania ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
