Germany (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes) and Italy (X tonnes) were the main destinations of polyvinyl chloride exports from the Czech Republic, together comprising X% of total exports. Belgium, the UK, Turkey, Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the UK, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices for polyvinyl chloride (in primary forms) reached their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, export prices failed to regain their momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the highest prices were recorded for prices to Ukraine ($X per tonne) and Russia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per tonne) and Romania ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

In 2018, the amount of polyvinyl chloride (in primary forms) imported into the Czech Republic amounted to X tonnes, surging by X% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2018 and are expected to retain its growth in the near future.

In value terms, polyvinyl chloride imports totaled $X in 2018. Over the period under review, polyvinyl chloride imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern.
