In 2023, shipments abroad of hot-rolled bars in bearing steels decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports showed a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hot-rolled bearing steel bar exports fell to $X in 2023. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2022, and then dropped in the following year.

Poland (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of hot-rolled bearing steel bar exports from the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of hot-rolled bars in bearing steels decreased by X% to X tons in 2023. In general, total imports indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hot-rolled bearing steel bar imports plummeted to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, showed notable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2022, and then fell notably in the following year.

Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of hot-rolled bearing steel bar imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total imports. Slovenia, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Lithuania, China, France, Austria and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
