Exports from the Czech Republic

In 2021, shipments abroad of flat glass was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, flat glass exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Poland (X tons) was the main destination for flat glass exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, flat glass exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Slovakia (X tons), with an 8.9% share.
