Ghee Market Size in the Czech Republic

After three years of growth, the Czech ghee market decreased by -X% to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a resilient expansion. The average ghee export price stood at $X per tonne in 2019, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2019, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Seychelles ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into the Czech Republic

In 2019, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of ghee, when their volume decreased by -X% to X tonnes. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2018, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, ghee imports fell significantly to $X in 2019. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Slovakia (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes) and Germany (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of ghee imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Slovakia (+X% per year), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
