In 2022, shipments abroad of iron or steel solid fuel domestic appliances decreased by -11.4% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 70% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, metal solid fuel appliances exports surged to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 66%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Germany (X units), Italy (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the main destinations of metal solid fuel appliances exports from Croatia, together accounting for 49% of total exports. France, Switzerland, Slovenia, Ukraine, Poland, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Norway, Russia and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Ukraine (with a CAGR of +139.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, total imports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +31.2% against 2020 indices.
