Slovenia (X tonnes), Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tonnes) and Germany (X tonnes) were the main destinations of canned food exports from Croatia, with a combined X% share of total exports. Serbia, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Hungary, the Netherlands, the UK, Macedonia, Poland and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Netherlands (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Slovenia ($X), Germany ($X) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X) constituted the largest markets for canned food exported from Croatia worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices reached the maximum at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2019, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2019 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2009 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year.
