Over the period under review, production showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 146%. In value terms, scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 122%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Austria (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) were the main destinations of scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment exports from Croatia, together accounting for 66% of total exports. Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Romania, France, Slovakia and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Romania (with a CAGR of +93.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment exported from Croatia were Germany ($X), Austria ($X) and Slovenia ($X), with a combined 73% share of total exports. Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, Romania, France, Slovakia and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.
Romania, with a CAGR of +99.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 25% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Croatia
After four years of growth, supplies from abroad of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping decreased by -3.8% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 101% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
In value terms, scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 53%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Italy (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons) were the main suppliers of scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment imports to Croatia, together accounting for 61% of total imports. Germany, Turkey, Poland, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Montenegro (with a CAGR of +97.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Austria ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X) constituted the largest scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment suppliers to Croatia, with a combined 66% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary and Montenegro, which together accounted for a further 28%.
Montenegro, with a CAGR of +77.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average import price for equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 39% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
