In general, imports faced a sharp setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 159% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, precious stone and pearl imports reduced slightly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 107% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

Italy (X kg), Belgium (X kg) and the Czech Republic (X kg) were the main suppliers of precious stone and pearl imports to Croatia, together accounting for 81% of total imports.
