Exports from Croatia

In 2022, aluminium tube exports from Croatia stood at X tons, increasing by X% on the previous year. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a precipitous decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium tube exports totaled $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Slovenia (X tons), Serbia (X tons) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons) were the main destinations of aluminium tube exports from Croatia, with a combined X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Croatia

In 2022, purchases abroad of aluminium tubes, pipes and tube or pipe fittings decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after nine years of growth. Overall, imports, however, saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aluminium tube imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest aluminium tube supplier to Croatia, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, aluminium tube imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Slovenia (X tons), twofold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Slovenia (X% per year) and Italy (X% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Slovenia ($X) and Italy ($X) were the largest aluminium tube suppliers to Croatia, with a combined X% share of total imports. Germany, Austria, Turkey, Poland, the Netherlands, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

The average aluminium tube import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
