Alcohols Market Size in Croatia

Exports peaked in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, alcohols exports surged to $X in 2020. In general, exports enjoyed strong growth. As a result, exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Slovenia (X tonnes) was the main destination for alcohols exports from Croatia, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, alcohols exports to Slovenia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tonnes), twofold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovenia totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+X% per year) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (+X% per year).

The average alcohols export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, increasing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Macedonia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

In 2020, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives, when their volume decreased by -X% to X tonnes. Overall, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then declined in the following year.

From 2019 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the price for Austria ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
