Overall, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Exports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Peru (X tonnes), Ecuador (X tonnes) and Guatemala (X tonnes) were the main destinations of shampoo exports from Colombia, together accounting for X% of total exports. Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, Panama, Chile and Bolivia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Nicaragua, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, shampoo imports shrank remarkably to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Moreover, shampoo imports from Mexico exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tonnes), fourfold.
