In value terms, bracelet production shrank modestly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production showed a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, production remained at a lower figure.

For the seventh year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in shipments abroad of watch straps, bands and bracelets, which increased by 48% to X tons in 2021. Overall, exports saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 90% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, bracelet exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 975%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Belarus prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 88% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), making up a 9.9% share of total exports. Azerbaijan (X kg) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to bracelet exports from Belarus stood at +29.5%. At the same time, Russia (+51.1%) and Azerbaijan (+21.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +51.1% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia and Belarus increased by +7.6 and +4.6 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest bracelet supplier in the CIS, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 25% share of total exports.
In Belarus, bracelet exports expanded at an average annual rate of +24.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+52.3% per year) and Azerbaijan (+6.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 1,427%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Azerbaijan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+0.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Bracelet Imports
Imports in CIS
In 2021, bracelet imports in the CIS skyrocketed to X tons, jumping by 22% compared with the year before. Overall, imports posted a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 130% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, bracelet imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Russia was the main importing country with an import of about X tons, which recorded 77% of total imports. Belarus (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Kazakhstan (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 18% share of total imports. The following importers - Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) - each accounted for a 3.6% share of total imports.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Moldova (+32.7%), Kazakhstan (+31.4%), Belarus (+19.1%) and Kyrgyzstan (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +32.7% from 2012-2021. While the share of Belarus (+7.8 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+5.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-14.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported watch straps, bands and bracelets in the CIS, comprising 79% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 3.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to +2.2%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (+19.2% per year) and Belarus (+5.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 89% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+10.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
