In 2022, overseas shipments of urea resins and thiourea resins in primary forms were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2014, thus ending a seven-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, urea and thiourea resins exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) represented the main exporter of urea resins and thiourea resins in primary forms, making up X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), generating a X% share of total exports.

Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X%. Imports into Belarus increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Azerbaijan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Russia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belarus (X p.p.) and Azerbaijan (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported urea resins and thiourea resins in primary forms in the CIS, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a X% share of total imports.

In Belarus, urea and thiourea resins imports expanded at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (X% per year) and Azerbaijan (X% per year).
