Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, unwrought aluminium alloys exports declined to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% year-to-year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In 2020, Russia (X tons) was the largest exporter of unwrought aluminium alloys in the CIS, making up X% of total export.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of unwrought aluminium alloys. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, unwrought aluminium alloys imports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Belarus was the key importer of unwrought aluminium alloys in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2020. Uzbekistan (X tons) occupied the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Armenia (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Tajikistan (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Tajikistan (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Belarus ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Russia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2020, together accounting for X% of total imports. The unwrought aluminium alloys import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2020, which is down by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, import prices failed to regain the momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2020, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Tajikistan ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while Armenia ($X per ton) and Belarus ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
