The CIS truck market dropped to $X in 2022, which is down by -7.7% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, truck production fell to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 20%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2020 to 2022, production growth remained at a lower figure.

Exports in CIS
Truck exports reduced markedly to X units in 2022, waning by -21% against the year before. Over the period under review, exports recorded a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 39%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 84% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Russia was the main exporter of trucks in the CIS, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was approx. 75% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), creating a 20% share of total exports. The following exporters - Uzbekistan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) - each amounted to a 4.2% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to truck exports from Russia stood at -1.9%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+63.9%) and Kazakhstan (+4.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +63.9% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Belarus (-5.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+4.5 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Belarus (-7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Belarus ($X), Russia ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 98% of total exports.
Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +55.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 49%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+4.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2022, the amount of trucks imported in the CIS declined to X units, dropping by -10.7% against 2021. Overall, imports recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 68%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, truck imports shrank remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia was the key importing country with an import of about X units, which reached 54% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), Kyrgyzstan (X units), Belarus (X units) and Azerbaijan (X units), together generating a 38% share of total imports. The following importers - Tajikistan (X units), Moldova (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) - each accounted for a 6.4% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to truck imports into Russia stood at -9.8%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+95.1%) and Moldova (+5.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +95.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Tajikistan (-2.5%), Kyrgyzstan (-2.7%), Kazakhstan (-4.0%), Belarus (-6.8%) and Azerbaijan (-8.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan increased by +4.1, +3.6, +1.8 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported trucks in the CIS, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 9.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled -10.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (-8.7% per year) and Belarus (-5.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -7.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 41%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+13.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
