Exports in CIS

After six years of growth, shipments abroad of tomato puree and paste decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, tomato puree exports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Exports by Country

Russia was the major exporter of tomato puree and paste in the CIS, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons), together generating a X% share of total exports. Azerbaijan (X tons), Armenia (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to tomato puree exports from Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Belarus (X%), Kyrgyzstan (X%), Kazakhstan (X%) and Azerbaijan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Armenia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, tomato puree imports reached $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild descent.
