Exports in CIS

In 2022, shipments abroad of textile products and articles for technical uses decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, exports continue to indicate a noticeable downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In value terms, technical textiles exports shrank notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell markedly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Russia represented the key exporter of textile products and articles for technical uses in the CIS, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), committing a X% share of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons) and Armenia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to technical textiles exports from Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Armenia (X%), Uzbekistan (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Belarus (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
