Sweetcorn Market Size in CIS

Sweetcorn Exports in CIS

The exports stood at X tonnes in 2017, picking up by X% against the previous year. The total exports indicated a strong increase from 2007 to 2017: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the sweetcorn exports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the sweetcorn exports reached its peak figure volume of X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, sweetcorn exports stood at $X in 2017. The total exports indicated a tangible increase from 2007 to 2017: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the sweetcorn exports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The level of exports peaked of $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

Sweetcorn Exports by Country in CIS

Russia was the major exporting country with an export of about X tonnes, which reached X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Moldova (X tonnes), generating X% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) and Belarus (X tonnes) occupied the mild share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2017, average annual rates of growth with regard to sweetcorn exports from Russia stood at +X%. At the same time, Belarus (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest growing exporter in CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Moldova (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2017, the share of Moldova increased by X% percentage points, while Belarus (-X%) and Russia (-X%) saw their share reduced. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest sweetcorn supplier in CIS, making up X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Moldova ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by Belarus, with a X% share.

The sweetcorn export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when the export prices increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the export prices for sweetcorn (prepared or preserved ) attained its peak figure level of $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2017, the country with the highest export price was Belarus ($X per tonne), while Kazakhstan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export prices was attained by Belarus (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

The imports amounted to X tonnes in 2017, picking up by X% against the previous year. The sweetcorn imports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010, when imports increased by X% y-o-y. The volume of imports peaked of X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, sweetcorn imports totaled $X in 2017. The sweetcorn imports continue to indicate a deep deduction. The level of imports peaked of $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Sweetcorn Imports by Country in CIS

Russia represented the largest importing country with an import of about X tonnes, which recorded X% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) occupied the second position in the ranking, followed by Belarus (X tonnes). All these countries together occupied near X% share of total imports. Armenia (X tonnes), Azerbaijan (X tonnes) and Kyrgyzstan (X tonnes) held the minor share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2017, average annual rates of growth with regard to sweetcorn imports into Russia stood at -X%. At the same time, Azerbaijan (+X%), Kyrgyzstan (+X%) and Armenia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest growing importer in CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2007-2017, the share of Kyrgyzstan (-X%) and Azerbaijan (-X%) displayed negative dynamics.
