Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Kyrgyzstan prevails in exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons) and Belarus (X tons), together constituting an X% share of total exports. Armenia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

For the eleventh year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in purchases abroad of sweet potatoes, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, sweet potato imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Russia dominates imports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Belarus (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to sweet potato imports into Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Belarus (X%) and Moldova (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
