In 2020, shipments abroad of styrene-acrylonitrile (san) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (abs) copolymers (in primary forms) decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, exports reached the peak of X tonnes. from 2014 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, styrene-acrylonitrile exports declined significantly to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, recorded modest growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

The biggest shipments were from Russia (X tonnes) and Belarus (X tonnes), together recording X% of total export.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Belarus.

Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, styrene-acrylonitrile imports reduced sharply to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
