From 2015 to 2017, growth of the preserved sauerkraut exports stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, preserved sauerkraut exports totaled $X in 2017. The preserved sauerkraut exports continue to indicate a slight decrease. Over the period under review, the preserved sauerkraut exports reached its maximum level of $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Preserved Sauerkraut Exports by Country in CIS

Belarus (X tonnes) and Moldova (X tonnes) represented roughly X% of total exports of preserved sauerkraut in 2017. Armenia (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the global exports with a X% share, followed by Russia (X%).

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Armenia (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, the largest preserved sauerkraut markets worldwide were Belarus ($X), Armenia ($X) and Russia ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.

Armenia (+X% per year) experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the last decade, while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2017, the preserved sauerkraut export price in CIS amounted to $X per tonne, coming down by -X% against the previous year. The preserved sauerkraut export price continues to indicate a temperate shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011, an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the export prices for preserved sauerkraut attained its maximum level of $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Export prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest export price was Russia ($X per tonne), while Moldova ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the preserved sauerkraut imports reached its maximum volume of X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

Preserved Sauerkraut Imports by Country in CIS

In 2017, Russia (X tonnes) was the key importer for preserved sauerkraut, constituting X% of total imports. Belarus (X tonnes) occupied a X% share (based on tonnes) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (X%). Azerbaijan (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2007 to 2017, average annual rates of growth with regard to preserved sauerkraut imports into Russia stood at -X%. At the same time, Belarus (+X%) and Azerbaijan (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest growing importer in CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2007-2017, the share of Belarus (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported preserved sauerkraut in CIS, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Belarus ($X), with a X% share of global imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a X% share.

In Russia, preserved sauerkraut imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2007-2017. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+X% per year) and Kazakhstan (-X% per year).

The level of import price peaked of $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
