Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+37.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +37.3% from 2012-2021. While the share of Belarus (+7.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-7.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest prepared or preserved crab meat supplier in the CIS, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 4.5% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia stood at +2.8%.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -11.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 25%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+6.6%).

Imports in CIS
After two years of decline, purchases abroad of prepared or preserved crab meat increased by 3.2% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 72%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, prepared or preserved crab meat imports expanded slightly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 59%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Russia prevails in imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. 92% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), generating a 5.4% share of total imports.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -6.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+5.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +5.1% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan (+3.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -4.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported prepared or preserved crab meat in the CIS, comprising 89% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 4.1% share of total imports.
In Russia, prepared or preserved crab meat imports plunged by an average annual rate of -8.5% over the period from 2012-2021.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 21%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan totaled $X per ton.
