While the share of Russia (X%) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2007-2017, the share of Kyrgyzstan (-X%), Belarus (-X%), Kazakhstan (-X%) and Azerbaijan (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2017, with a combined X% share of total imports. Azerbaijan, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

In terms of the main importing countries , Kyrgyzstan (+X% per year) experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to imports, over the last decade, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Potato Starch Import Prices by Country in CIS

In 2017, the potato starch import price in CIS amounted to $X per ton, going up by X% against the previous year. The potato starch import price continues to indicate a measured downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008, an increase of X% y-o-y. In that year, the import prices for potatoes prepared or preserved in the form of flour, meal or flakes reached their peak level of $X per ton.
