The CIS potato market declined modestly to $X in 2022, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Potato Production in CIS

In value terms, potato production reduced slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The average potato yield expanded rapidly to X tons per ha in 2022, picking up by X% against the previous year. The yield figure increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The level of yield peaked at X tons per ha in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the yield remained at a lower figure. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions.

The potato harvested area fell to X ha in 2022, dropping by X% against the previous year's figure. In general, the harvested area saw a drastic downturn. Potato Exports

Exports in CIS

In 2022, potato exports in the CIS skyrocketed to X tons, growing by X% against the year before. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
