In value terms, potato chips exports shrank remarkably to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. The level of export peaked at $X in 2019, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

Exports by Country

Russia dominates potato chips exports structure, resulting at X tonnes, which was near X% of total exports in 2020. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tonnes), generating an X% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) occupied a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Belarus (+X%) and Kazakhstan (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. Belarus (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -X% from 2007 to 2020, respectively. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per tonne), while Kazakhstan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
