In 2021, the amount of polyethylene glycols and polyethers in primary forms imported in the CIS soared to X tons, with an increase of 29% on 2020. Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +93.6% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Russia dominates imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. 81% of total imports in 2021. Belarus (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 7.9% share, followed by Kazakhstan (6.2%). Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

At the same time, Uzbekistan (+31.2%), Belarus (+3.7%) and Kazakhstan (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +31.2% from 2012-2021. Uzbekistan (+3.2 p.p.) and Russia (+2.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus and Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -1.9% and -2.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported polyethylene glycols and polyethers in primary forms in the CIS, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 7.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 6.2% share.
In Russia, polyethylene glycol and polyether imports expanded at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+3.7% per year) and Kazakhstan (+2.6% per year).

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 43% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a slight expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Uzbekistan ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) and Kazakhstan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+4.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
