The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 43%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, polycarboxylic acid exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded a resilient increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Russia represented the largest exporter of polycarboxylic acids in the CIS, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was near 73% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), comprising a 26% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to polycarboxylic acid exports from Russia stood at +7.3%. At the same time, Belarus (+7.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +7.9% from 2012-2021. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest polycarboxylic acid supplier in the CIS, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 25% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to +5.8%.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a slight slump. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-1.4%).

Imports in CIS
In 2021, approx. X tons of polycarboxylic acids were imported in the CIS; which is down by -2.7% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, polycarboxylic acid imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -14.4% against 2019 indices. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia prevails in imports structure, reaching X tons, which was near 89% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), mixing up an 8.6% share of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the polycarboxylic acids imports, with a CAGR of +6.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Belarus (-3.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Russia (+7.6 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus saw its share reduced by -9.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported polycarboxylic acids in the CIS, comprising 86% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with an 8.6% share of total imports.
In Russia, polycarboxylic acid imports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-5.8% per year) and Uzbekistan (+7.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 43% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a noticeable contraction. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+5.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
