Exports in CIS

For the third year in a row, the CIS recorded decline in shipments abroad of naphthalene and other aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures exports dropped significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Belarus (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the naphthalene and other aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. Belarus (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Russia (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Belarus saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

Imports in CIS

In 2022, approx. X tons of naphthalene and other aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures were imported in the CIS; falling by X% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Russia was the main importer of naphthalene and other aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Belarus (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (X%). Kazakhstan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
