Total exports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -4.6% against 2019 indices. The level of export peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Russia dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 85% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), comprising a 9.8% share of total exports. Belarus (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars. At the same time, Belarus (+10.7%) and Kyrgyzstan (+6.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +10.7% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Belarus (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest snow motor vehicle supplier in the CIS, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 4.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 1% share.
In Russia, snow motor vehicle exports increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (-5.8% per year) and Belarus (+0.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, surging by 107% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed modest growth. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+5.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Snow motor vehicle imports rose remarkably to X units in 2021, increasing by 10% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, faced a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 41%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, snow motor vehicle imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the main importing country with an import of around X units, which accounted for 79% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), creating an 18% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to snow motor vehicle imports into Russia stood at -19.7%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +1.4% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Kazakhstan increased by +15 percentage points.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars in the CIS, comprising 90% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 8.2% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled -11.4%.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 38% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 81%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan totaled $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+10.3%).
