Maize Bran Exports

Exports in CIS

For the tenth year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in overseas shipments of maize bran, which increased by X% to X tons in 2023. Overall, exports recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2023 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, maize bran exports surged to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports posted a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the one major exporters of maize bran, namely Russia, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the maize bran exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Russia increased by X percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) also remains the largest maize bran supplier in the CIS.

Export Prices by Country

In 2023, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, dropping by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2022, and then fell in the following year.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

In 2023, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of maize bran, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, maize bran imports fell notably to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2022, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

Imports by Country

Uzbekistan represented the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which resulted at X% of total imports. Russia (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Tajikistan (X%) and Belarus (X%). Armenia (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the maize bran imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Russia (X%), Kazakhstan (X%), Belarus (X%), Tajikistan (X%) and Armenia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Uzbekistan and Armenia increased by X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported maize bran in the CIS, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with an X% share of total imports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia totaled X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (X% per year) and Tajikistan (X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2023, declining by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
