In 2023, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of laptops and palm-top computers, when their volume decreased by X% to X units. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, laptop and tablet computer exports declined to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate perceptible growth. Exports by Country

Kazakhstan (X units) and Armenia (X units) were the main exporters of laptops and palm-top computers in 2023, finishing at approx. X% and X% of total exports, respectively. Russia (X units) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (X%) and Moldova (X%). Azerbaijan (X units) and Belarus (X units) took a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in CIS

Laptop and tablet computer imports rose sharply to X units in 2023, surging by X% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, laptop and tablet computer imports expanded modestly to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. Russia prevails in imports structure, resulting at X units, which was near X% of total imports in 2023. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), achieving a X% share of total imports. Armenia (X units), Azerbaijan (X units) and Belarus (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Azerbaijan (X%), Armenia (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Belarus (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Armenia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported laptops and palm-top computers in the CIS, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Armenia, with a X% share.
