From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume in Russia totaled +X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+X% per year) and Belarus (-X% per year).

Hat and headgear exports dropped markedly to X tonnes in 2020, which is down by -X% against 2019 figures. Overall, exports, however, showed resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, hat and headgear exports contracted significantly to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, saw prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2019, and then declined markedly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Belarus was the major exporting country with an export of about X tonnes, which recorded X% of total exports. Russia (X tonnes) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Uzbekistan (X tonnes) and Kyrgyzstan (X tonnes). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports.

Exports from Belarus increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+X%), Kyrgyzstan (+X%) and Russia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. From 2007 to 2020, the share of Belarus and Uzbekistan increased by +X% and +X% percentage points, while Kyrgyzstan (-X p.p.) and Russia (-X p.p.) saw their share reduced.

In value terms, Belarus ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Russia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2020, with a combined X% share of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Uzbekistan (+X% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the hat and headgear export price in the CIS amounted to $X per tonne, declining by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, export prices reached the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per tonne), while Russia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The volume of import peaked at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hat and headgear imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year.
