Exports in CIS

In 2022, shipments abroad of hand tools decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2014, thus ending a seven-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a measured increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, hand tools exports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw measured growth. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After five years of growth, overseas purchases of hand tools decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate tangible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Azerbaijan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Belarus increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively.
