Production By Country in CIS
Uzbekistan (X tonnes) remains the largest glycosides and vegetable alkaloids producing country in the CIS, accounting for X% of total volume. Moreover, glycosides and vegetable alkaloids production in Uzbekistan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Kazakhstan (X tonnes), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Azerbaijan (X tonnes), with a X% share.
In Uzbekistan, glycosides and vegetable alkaloids production increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2020. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: Kazakhstan (+X% per year) and Azerbaijan (+X% per year).

Exports in CIS
In 2020, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of glycosides and vegetable alkaloids, when their volume decreased by -X% to X tonnes. Overall, exports, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tonnes, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, glycosides and vegetable alkaloids exports shrank notably to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% year-to-year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Azerbaijan was the largest exporter of glycosides and vegetable alkaloids in the CIS, with the volume of exports reaching X tonnes, which was near X% of total exports in 2020. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Tajikistan (X tonnes) and Russia (X tonnes). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports.
Azerbaijan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the glycosides and vegetable alkaloids exports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Tajikistan (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Russia (-X%) and Kazakhstan (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Azerbaijan (+X p.p.) and Tajikistan (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2007-2020, the share of Russia (-X p.p.) and Kazakhstan (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

Export Prices by Country
In 2020, the glycosides and vegetable alkaloids export price in the CIS amounted to $X per tonne, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt decline. The level of export peaked at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per tonne), while Tajikistan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan (-X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Imports of Glycosides And Vegetable Alkaloids
Imports in CIS
In 2020, imports of glycosides and vegetable alkaloids in the CIS expanded notably to X tonnes, surging by X% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a temperate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, glycosides and vegetable alkaloids imports expanded slightly to $X in 2020. Overall, imports showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Russia dominates glycosides and vegetable alkaloids imports structure, finishing at X tonnes, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2020. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tonnes), achieving a X% share of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) and Tajikistan (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Tajikistan (+X%) and Kazakhstan (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Kazakhstan (+X p.p.) and Tajikistan (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus saw its share reduced by -X% from 2007 to 2020, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, glycosides and vegetable alkaloids import price decreased by -X% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per tonne in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, import prices failed to regain momentum.
