The CIS glass fibre mat market stood at $X in 2022, with an increase of 5% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, glass fibre mat production contracted to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production recorded a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production attained the peak level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in CIS
In 2022, overseas shipments of glass fibre mats decreased by -98.8% to X tons, falling for the fourth year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a dramatic slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 58%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, glass fibre mat exports dropped notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a dramatic setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 55% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Belarus was the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which resulted at 60% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Moldova (X tons), generating a 37% share of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Moldova (with a CAGR of +119.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
In value terms, the largest glass fibre mat supplying countries in the CIS were Belarus ($X), Moldova ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X), together comprising 100% of total exports.
Moldova, with a CAGR of +100.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by 47% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a slight downturn. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Moldova ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+33.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2022, after six years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of glass fibre mats, when their volume decreased by -14.3% to X tons. Overall, imports showed a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 17%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, glass fibre mat imports dropped rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 50% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
Imports by Country
Russia was the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which finished at 58% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons), together creating a 37% share of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to glass fibre mat imports into Russia stood at -3.3%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+34.3%) and Kyrgyzstan (+10.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +34.3% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-3.2%) and Belarus (-3.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan increased by +5.3 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported glass fibre mats in the CIS, comprising 66% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at +1.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (-7.2% per year) and Belarus (-10.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, waning by -11.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 29% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then fell in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+6.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
