Frozen Vegetable Exports

Exports in CIS

Frozen vegetable exports declined remarkably to X tons in 2022, dropping by X% on the previous year's figure. In general, exports, however, posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, frozen vegetable exports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the three major exporters of frozen vegetables, namely Uzbekistan, Belarus and Russia, represented more than two-thirds of total export. The following exporters - Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest frozen vegetable supplying countries in the CIS were Belarus ($X), Russia ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X), together comprising X% of total exports.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a modest increase. Total imports indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by X% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%), Kazakhstan (X%), Azerbaijan (X%) and Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. While the share of Kazakhstan (X p.p.), Belarus (X p.p.), Uzbekistan (X p.p.) and Azerbaijan (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported frozen vegetables in the CIS, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia totaled X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (X% per year) and Belarus (X% per year).
