Russia (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together creating 82% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 7.4% share, followed by Uzbekistan (6.1%). Azerbaijan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +63.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 89% of total imports. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.7%.

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -16.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the import price increased by 56% against the previous year.
