In 2023, the CIS electronic chip market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a four-year declining trend. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, electronic chip exports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Russia prevails in exports structure, recording X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Belarus (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the electronic chips exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. Belarus (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Russia increased by X percentage points.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) and Russia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2023.

Russia, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2023, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Russia totaled less than $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (X%).

Electronic chip imports soared to X units in 2023, increasing by X% on 2022 figures. Overall, imports recorded a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, electronic chip import price decreased by X% against 2021 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
